This tartan was designed by Kinloch Anderson for the South Thormanby Island (Buccaneer Bay) community.

The South Thormanby Island (Buccaneer Bay) tartan represents a lasting legacy, a special symbol of the kinship the inhabitants all share for the island, their heritage and each other. The tartan will be available for all the Buccaneer Bay and Thormanby community to wear with pride.

The 4 colours are reflective of the following:

blue reflects the Ocean/Strait of Georgia surrounding Thormanby Island;
green reflects the trees and forest of Thormanby Island;
yellow reflects the sunny beaches, sandy coves and inlets of the island;
red/orange reflects the stunning sunsets we get on the Pacific West Coast.
